“G’ Street and Hueners Lane provides access for the children attending Jacksonville Elementary School but were without pedestrian facilities. This would force the school children and other pedestrians to walk in or along the roadway.  The City of Jacksonville wanted to create pedestrian safety, accessibility and traffic calming improvements.  

KAS & Associates, Inc. provided civil engineering design including storm drain improvements, contract document preparation and administration, construction engineering management services for street and pedestrian improvements to “G” Street and Hueners Lane.
 

Improvements included curb, gutter, sidewalks, planter strips and raised concrete crosswalks.  It also provided access ramps for pedestrian and driveway approaches.

The completed Pedestrian Improvement project allows safe access for children and pedestrians to and from Jacksonville Elementary School. This project also provides great enhancement to the neighborhood and surrounding area’s.
